Anyone hitting the road today is being urged to pack their patience, with long delays expected as thousands of people head away for the Easter long weekend.
There’s also been a number of crashes on Gold Coast roads already this morning, only adding to the dramas across the city.
A motorcyclist has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital after an accident on the Helensvale South off-ramp.
It happened just before 10am, with the rider, a man aged in his 50s, suffering minor injuries.
Southbound traffic is currently at a standstill pretty much all the way from Nerang back to Beenleigh.
Further south on the M1 and traffic is bumper to bumper in both directions between Mudgeeraba and Tugun.
Meantime, a crash along the Sundale Bridge at Southport is causing dramas for motorists travelling through there, with delays back to Labrador.
