E-scooter rider killed in Gold Coast crash

An e-scooter rider has died after a crash in a Gold Coast park.

A member of the public was walking through a park on Gloucester Court in Highland park around midday when they found the rider unresponsive near their crashed e-scooter.

Queensland Ambulance said the rider suffered life-threatening head injuries and despite the best efforts of paramedics, they could not be saved.

Police have confirmed the Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating to try and determine the cause of the crash.
