LATEST @ 5.15PM | Eighteen firefighters have worked tirelessly to contain a massive blaze at a duplex in Paradise Point.

The blaze broke out at the property, containing two units, around 2.30pm on Drake Avenue.

Firey’s worked for over two hours to bring the inferno under control.

Sadly, the property has been destroyed, and the roof has completely caved in.

Station Officer David Gemeri told Seven News they faced a tough job.

“The crews worked really hard at the start to try and get this fire under control,” Mr Gemeri says.

“Unfortunately on arrival one of the duplexes was well involved but they were able to contain that fire within the site so it didn’t spread to any neighbouring property’s,

“The front duplex was also involved.”

Thankfully, nobody has been injured in the fire.

The fire investigation unit will now investigate the scene, to try and determine the cause.

EARLIER @ 3.40PM | A duplex on the northern Gold Coast has been destroyed, with firefighters still working to battle the blaze.

The inferno broke out at the property on Drake Avenue around 2.30pm, with firey’s confirming two units are now “fully involved”.

One person, who was inside one of the units when the fire broke out, has been assessed by Paramedics and is thankfully uninjured.

Five fire crews remain on the scene working to bring the fire under control.

A QFES spokesperson said the front unit is now under control, and firey’s are working to gain access to the rear unit.

It’s not yet known what caused the fire to break out.

The fire investigation unit has been advised, with an investigation set to take place.

EARLIER @ 2.50PM | Multiple fire crews are currently on scene battling a massive house fire in Paradise Point.

The blaze broke out at a duplex along Drake Avenue around 2.30pm.

A QFES spokesperson confirmed the property is currently “well involved” – with three crews on scene.

There are also two ambulance crews in attendance.

Paramedics are assessing one patient that was inside when the fire started, but thankfully has no injuries at this stage.

It’s not yet clear if there was anyone else inside when the blaze broke out.
