Queensland fire crews have been called to an unusual rescue operation on the northern Gold Coast overnight.
A man and woman became stuck in the mud in the Albert River at Stapylton just before 7.00pm on Saturday.
It’s understood the pair slipped down a muddy embankment, landing in the mud below.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told myGC the duo were trapped to above the waist, with firies needed to haul them out of the river bed.
Once rescued, the pair were treated at the scene by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.
They were then taken to Logan Hospital in stable conditions.
