Two young men have been charged following a dramatic stolen car crash at Burleigh Heads.

Police were initially called to Cheltenham Drive in Robina around 6.50am on Monday, after a member of the public reported seeing a stolen black BMW X3 parked in a car park.

The vehicle had already left by the time officers arrived, however police received several calls a short time later in relation to the vehicle slamming into parked cars and street signs in Mermaid Waters and Burleigh.

The BMW eventually came to a stop after ploughing into a ute on Bermuda Street, near the Bermuda Street offramp around 8am.

The pair was arrested after being pulled from the vehicle by police.

A 19-year-old Mermaid Waters man has now been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of stolen property.

While a 17-year-old Reedy Creek boy has been charged with seven offences, including enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful possession of suspected property and enter premises.

He is due to front Southport Childrens Court today, while the older man will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on April 14.

Thankfully the driver of the ute managed to escape uninjured.
