A man and woman have been labelled as possibly the Gold Coast’s dumbest criminals after being arrested over the theft of a golf buggy.
The golf cart was among several items stolen following an alleged break-in at a Gilston property on Thursday night.
The owner of the buggy happened to spot his cart being driven on a road in the same suburb on Sunday afternoon by a young male and female.
He contacted Police while tailing the cart at low speed.
Officers, including the dog squad arrived on the scene before the male and female tried to run.
The 19-year-old and 24-year-old were taken into custody a short time later.
“They’ve been charged with the burglary and associated offences, “Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon told the ABC.
“They’ll probably go down and compete for Gold Coast’s dumbest criminals.”
