Panicked bystanders have had to call emergency crews to help rescue a teenage boy who became stuck at the top of a large tree on the Gold Coast.
Witnesses spotted the boy up the tree at a park in Broadbeach, near Kurrawa Surf Club, on Sunday afternoon and became seiously concerned for his safety.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene, however, it took around two hours to get the boy down as the daylight faded during the dramatic rescue operation.
Once the boy was low enough, authorities were able to erect a tall ladder, which the teen was able to climb down.
He thankfully escaped unharmed.
