A little girl is in a serious condition in hospital after being mauled by a dog on the northern Gold Coast.
The vicious attack happened at a home on Paterson Road in Yatala around 5.30pm on Wednesday, prompting a large emergency response.
The 3-year-old was bitten several times, suffering severe head and neck injuries.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
It’s understood the dog involved in the attack was owned by the little girl’s grandmother who was a registered dog breeder.
That dog, along with three others, have since been seized from the property by Council officers.
Concerningly, it’s the third dog attack in Queensland this week and comes just days after a 6-year-old girl was mauled by two dogs in Woodridge on Monday.
She remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
