A cyclist has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a car at a busy intersection on the Gold Coast.
The man, aged in his 60s, was struck on the corner of Nielsen and Nerang Broadbeach Road just after 6am on Wednesday.
He suffered significant head and arm injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains fighting for life.
Heavy delays are currently being experienced in the area, with motorists being urged to seek alternative routes.
