A crime scene has been declared after a fire broke out inside a home in Merrimac in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze is believed to have started in a bedroom of the Entry Drive property around 1am.
Fire crews rushed to the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze pretty quickly.
Two men were treated by paramedics, one for smoke inhalation and the other for minor burns.
Both were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.
Investigators are now working to determine what sparked the fire.
Police have confirmed it’s “still yet to be determined whether it will be treated as suspicious or not”.
