Crime scene declared at Gold Coast business after blaze erupts

A crime scene has been declared at a business in Southport following an early morning fire.

The blaze is understood to have erupted in a pile of rubbish outside the Nerang Street business around 1.10am on Tuesday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and managed to have it under control pretty quickly, however it is believed to have caused some damage to the structure.

Fortunately no one was injured or inside the business at the time.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area, including anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision around the time of the incident, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
