A crime scene has been declared at what’s left of a home in Slacks Creek after it was destroyed in a ferocious fire early this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the two-storey property on Janice Street around 2.30am on Thursday following reports of a blaze.
Upon arrival, they found the home completely engulfed in flames.
Both neighbouring properties were evacuated as firies battled the inferno, but fortunately, crews were able to stop the blaze from spreading.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told myGC the fire was so intense the top storey of the house collapsed.
Preliminary investigations suggest no one was inside the property at the time, however, crews are still yet to get inside to confirm.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the blaze.
It’s unknown at this stage whether or not it is suspicious, with authorities still probing the cause.
