Infrastructure works have commenced in Surfers Paradise with a little over five weeks to go until the 2023 Gold Coast 500.

Construction has begun today with barrier and debris fencing being installed, impacting the Gold Coast Highway, Surfers Paradise Boulevard, and within Helen Park.

The southbound lanes of GC Highway will be partially closed from 7am-5pm Monday to Friday and fully blocked during evening workdays from 7pm-5am.

Construction is affecting Surfers Paradise Boulevard to Main Beach Paradise only during the night works at this stage.

Organisers have assured diversions will be in place and local access will be maintained at all times.

“The Supercars team always works with our contractors to ensure noise is kept to a minimum, however with these major works, some residential building may expect to hear the activity at times,” a statement reads.

“We will continue to keep everyone across the weekly build updates as we move towards the October 27 – 29 event.”
