A Grandmother who recently became guardian to her four grand-children is the Gold Coast’s latest big money winner, taking home a whopping $150,000 from a $10 scratchie.
Leanne Wilson from Pimpama purchased a Christmas Instant Scratch-Its ticket at Pimpama Lotto & News and says the win is life-changing for her family.
“This means the absolute world to me,” Ms Wilson said.
“It’s given us security for the kids, which is the most important thing. It’s come at the best time.”
Ms Wilson admitted she bought the scratchie because she was having a bad day and wanted to cheer herself up.
“I forgot about it, and then about a week or so later, I found it again and scratched it,”
“When I saw the top prize win, I didn’t believe it. It was exhilarating but completely unbelievable! I was jumping up and down!”
The lucky Grandmother says her husband arranged a special treat for her to go pick up her cheque.
“Hubby arranged a limo for me to go to The Lott head office to claim this prize, making it extra special.”
Ms Wilson plans to use the money on a house deposit and to care for her grandchildren.
