Five people, including a child and a baby, have been taken to hospital after a series of crashes on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were first called to a two-car crash along the M1 in Pimpama around 7pm on Friday.

A male in his 40s, a pre-teen child and an infant were all taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

Around an hour later, three cars collided at the corner of Captain Cook Drive and Brisbane Road in Arundel.

A woman in her 20s was transported in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital with chest pain.

Around 10.30pm, a person was also taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries following a two-car crash at the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Discovery Drive in Helensvale.

All five are in a stable condition.
