Motorists are being warned of some hefty delays across a number of Gold Coast roads this afternoon.
It looks like holiday-makers are setting off for the long weekend, with traffic chaos north and southbound on the m1.
Going south it’s bumper-to-bumper from Brisbane all the way down to Nerang and again really bad from Mudgeeraba to West Burleigh.
Northbound is slow from Tugun to Reedy Creek with traffic picking up again in Nerang.
Meanwhile, roads around Robina Town Centre are very busy and Smith Street westbound is quite backed up.
Pretty much every road in the heart of Surfers Paradise is gridlocked due to an event on the foreshore.
Thomas Drive on Chevron Island is also chockers both ways.
