A Gold Coast car wash has been left with a hefty clean-up after a rare Lamborghini crashed into a power pole outside the business, leaving a trail of destruction.
The driver, a 40-year-old Broadbeach Waters man, had just left the Ashmore Road car wash in Bundall around 6.30pm on Sunday when he lost control of the luxury vehicle and smashed into the pole.
The impact of the crash caused the power pole to snap in half, but the man fortunately managed to escape with minor injuries.
No charges have been laid, with initial investigations suggesting the driver may have accidentally hit the wrong pedal, causing him to lose control.
It’s a heartbreaking scene for the owner, with the reported $800,000 Lamborghini believed to be a write-off.
