There’s been action-packed scenes in Bathurst this week to promote the highly anticipated Gold Coast 500.
Olympic skateboarder Lachlan Abbott wowed crowds as he jumped over Championship leader Brodie Kostecki’s Chevrolet Camaro.
The stunt was part of a promotion for the much-loved Surfers Paradise event, which will feature off-track skateboarding ramp displays across the three-days.
Abbott will also be competing in this weekend’s Street League Skateboarding competition, with some of its competitors backing up later this month with trackside displays for fans attending Queensland’s biggest annual sporting event.
The Presets, Client Liaison, Illy, Havana Brown, Mashd N Kutcher, John Course and DJ Total Eclipse will also light up the stage within the famous beachside race precinct, as world-class entertainment returns to the Gold Coast 500.
The music acts join a packed on-track schedule for the 2023 event, which includes the first-ever Gold Coast outing of the Gen3 Chevrolet Camaros and Ford Mustangs, Porsche Carrera Cup, V8 SuperUtes and Sports Sedans.
The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will be held from the 27-29 October on the streets of Surfers Paradise following this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000.
Practice for the 60th anniversary of the Bathurst 1000 begins this afternoon at 1:20pm local time.
