A caravan has been destroyed by fire in Coomera.

The blaze erupted just after 8pm Monday night along Creek Road, and is believed to have been started by the caravan’s battery exploding.

Firefighters arrived to find the caravan “well alight”, and spent around 30 minutes extinguishing the flames.

The owner of the caravan was able to escape, but he suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The fire has been deemed non-suspicious.
