The Gold Coast continues to cement itself as the lucky city, with another local now $1 million richer after winning last night’s Gold Lotto.
The Nerang man held one of three division one winning entries across Australia in Monday night’s draw, with each person taking home an incredible $1 million.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the man said he was struggling to believe that a rudimentary Tuesday had become one of the best days of his life.
“Oh my god! Can I tell you I love you?” the man proclaimed.
“This morning was just your run of the mill Tuesday. I woke up and checked some emails and then checked my Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto numbers.
“I had to wake my wife up, and when she confirmed that we’d won, we began jumping around the study and yelling with happiness.
“I once heard someone say it’s best to pick your numbers and stick with them. Well, after a decade, mine have worked wonders!”
The lucky winner said he plans to put the money towards a new home.
“This will set us up for the rest of our lives. We’ll be able to buy a new home, and that’s the best outcome for us,” he said.
“We’ll be having a nice dinner tonight to celebrate, and then I’ll process the win completely.”
