LATEST @ 2.35PM | A woman has been arrested after allegedly firing a shot from a gel blaster at a vehicle on the M1 Gold Coast.
Police allege the woman was travelling in a black Landcruiser southbound in Stapylton just after 10am this morning when she shot into a white vehicle.
The Landcruiser left the highway and police tracked the vehicle to Quinns Hill Road where it was intercepted around 11am.
All three occupants of the vehicle – two men and one woman – were spoken to by police.
The men were later released, and the woman is currently assisting police with investigations.
A search of the Landcruiser allegedly located a silver gel-blaster in the centre console.
A manhunt is continuing to find the second vehicle involved, and its occupants.
There is no evidence to suggest anyone was injured during this incident.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed – or captured dash-camera footage – of the incident to come forward.
EARLIER @ 12.45PM | A major police incident is unfolding following a reported shooting on the M1 on the northern Gold Coast.
Police say shots were fired from one car to another at Stapylton just after 10am this morning.
One vehicle was tracked to Quinns Hill Road where a woman has since been arrested.
A manhunt is now underway to find the second car involved.
There have been no reports of any injuries.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed or may have captured dash-camera footage of the incident to come forward.
