Emergency services are currently dealing with a gas leak in Runaway Bay.
An excavator struck and ruptured a gas main on Coombabah Road just after 12.30 this afternoon.
The nearby area is being evacuated with people urged to stay away.
There are unconfirmed reports it happened at a unit complex.
Two QFES crews are on scene, with another two on the way.
Police are also on scene.
