Police have confirmed they have located a woman safe and well, following reports she had been swept off rocks at Currumbin.
A major search mission was sparked on Tuesday evening around 9.30pm, after a man told people nearby he had seen a woman knocked into the rough water near Elephant Rock.
The man who raised the alarm was “not present” when police officers arrived and no information was provided as to the woman’s identity.
A large-scale land, air and sea search commenced for the next two days involving Water Police, police choppers, shore line searches, divers, jetskis and Surf Life Saving Queensland.
Investigations and public appeals resulted in the woman being identified safe and well around 11am Friday morning.
The man who initially reported the incident is yet to be found.
Police are continuing to investigate.
