A major manhunt is underway for two teenagers who allegedly threatened a woman with a screwdriver in a frightening home invasion on the Gold Coast.

The brazen duo, who were wearing balaclavas, stormed a home on Armstrong Way in Highland Park just after midday on Tuesday.

Once inside, they allegedly held a screwdriver to a 43-year-old woman’s throat before demanding her phone and car keys.

The woman’s 14-year-old son ran out onto the street screaming for help, before a neighbour ran to their aid, chasing the duo off with a golf club.

The teens escaped empty-handed in a getaway vehicle and remain on the run this morning.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.

Thankfully no one was physically injured during the incident.
