Police are hunting two men after a young man was violently assaulted and shot in the face with gel pellets during a frightening armed robbery in Logan.
The 18-year-old was walking along Tamborine Waterford Road in Waterford around 2am on Saturday, when a vehicle pulled up beside him.
According to police, two men exited the vehicle wearing balaclavas and threatened the man with what appeared to be firearms.
“The two men demanded the 18-year-old’s jacket, wallet and phone and he was struck in the face with the handle of the weapon by one of the men,” Queensland Police said.
“As the 18-year-old handed over his property, the other man shot him in the face with gel pellets only then he realised the firearms were gel blasters”.
The pair then fled in the vehicle, described as being a Mitsubishi sedan.
Detectives are urging anyone with information or dash cam and CCTV footage from that area around 2am, June 11, to come forward.
