An arrest warrant has been issued for an alleged gunman accused of shooting at a car in a terrifying road rage attack on the Gold Coast.

The driver of an Isuzu D-MAX allegedly fired a shot at a Ford Ranger along Bermuda Street in Broadbeach Waters around 2.40pm on Friday.

It hit the rear driver’s side door, so thankfully the 53-year-old driver escaped uninjured.

Queensland Police have confirmed Taskforce Maxima detectives are now hunting 37-year-old Oxenford man Saleh Atasoy, who fled the scene on foot following the alleged shooting.

He’s described as being 173cm tall, of Middle Eastern appearance, around 85kgs, with black hair and brown eyes.

“We will allege Atasoy was the driver of that D-MAX involved in the incident and allegedly produced a handgun and fired a projectile into the side of the Ford Ranger,” Acting Superintendent Ryan Clarke said.

“Members of the public are warned that this man is armed and is considered to be quite dangerous.
