A major department store at Pacific Fair has suffered water damage after a fire broke out overnight.
Fire crews were called to the Broadbeach shopping centre around 6.30pm on Tuesday following reports of a blaze inside Myer.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told myGC a heat gun is believed to be to blame.
It’s understood a worker had been using the device and put it down on some clothes, with the heat causing them to catch alight.
An employee was able to extinguish the flames before firies arrived on scene.
However, it did set off the store’s sprinkler system, causing some water damage throughout the building.
Fortunately no one was injured.
