It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
A forest of trees have been festooned with lights and decorations at Q Super Centre in Mermaid Waters by 14 non-profit organisations, and it’s all for a good cause.
Forming a sparkling line in the middle of the Centre between Coles and Woolworths, visitors will be able to catch a glimpse while they do their holiday shopping, and they can even vote for their favourite display.
The charity with the most votes will be given a $5,000 donation.
Each tree captures the essence of each organisation’s unique personality.
The team at Adopt a Granparent adorned their tree with 80 handmade gnomes, while children from the Gold Coast University Hospital created their own decorations for their exhibit.
Those who cast their vote before the competition ends on December 23 will also go in the draw to win a $1,000 Q gift card.
Some of the other Gold Coast non-profit organisations taking part in the competition include; Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ), St John’s Crisis Centre, Robina Lions, St Margaret’s Church, Merrimac School, Friends with Dignity, and Ashmore Rotary.
