A young Helensvale girl has been honoured for her bravery after she returned home from school to find her mum unconscious.

The Queensland Ambulance Service has released the incredible audio, where nine-year-old Charli Johnson dialled triple-zero and spoke with medical dispatcher Anne.

On the call, Anne talked Charli through the tough process of CPR, until her mum, Sharon, started breathing effectively again.

“My mum woke up at 6.30 this morning, she was throwing up, I had to take my own lunch and everything. She was asleep all day,” Charli explained to Anne on the call.

“She opened the door and fell and she just knelt to the ground and just fainted. I think she’s stopped breathing.”

Anne coached and guided Charli through the process, as they counted the CPR steps together.

During the stressful situation, Anne can be heard telling little Charli what an amazing job she is doing, and how proud she is of her.
