Shocking scenes in Robina this morning when a 4WD clipped a tree and rolled on a busy major road, blocking Saturday morning traffic.

Emergency services were called to Markeri Street around 11.00 am, following reports of the crash.

Onlookers described the chaotic scene to myGC, saying there was grocery items spilling out of the vehicle.

Traffic is already banked up in both directions between Robina Parkway and Clipper Boulevard.

At least three ambulances and three police vehicles are on scene but it’s understood the driver was able to get out of the car.

Paramedics have confirmed that one person had to be hospitalised with minor injuries but they’re in a stable condition.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
