A 13-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a horror stolen car crash on the Gold Coast this morning.
Emergency crews were called to Ashmore just after 6.30am, following reports a car had lost control and crashed into bushland at the intersection of Old Coach Road and Southport Nerang Road.
Upon arrival, they failed to find anyone inside the car, stumping officers.
However, after a search of the area, a 13-year-old boy was located on nearby Burnside Avenue suffering serious injuries.
The teen was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed the car, a white Range Rover, had been stolen from Carrara sometime between 9pm on April 5 and 2.15am on April 6.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and is appealing for any dashcam or witnesses to the crash to come forward.
