An intricate Versace-inspired chocolate sculpture complete with 24 carat gold edible chocolate is set to be auctioned off this Easter to raise funds for local charity, Baby Give Back.
The opulent chocolate egg created by in-house pastry chefs at Palazzo Versace will be sold in a silent auction on April 17 along with a Moet Hennessy Magnum, with the proceeds to be donated to the charity, which aids children and families in crisis.
“It’s a really important charity, and at the moment as they are giving back to people who have lost everything in the floods from Southeast Queensland all the way down to Lismore,” Palazzo Versace pastry chef Grant Turner told myGC.
The lavish treat is currently on display in the hotel’s lobby, with locals encouraged to pop in to place a bid.

“The design is inspired by the ornate tiling on the floor of Palazzo Versace’s lobby. It looks right at home on display in Palazzo Versace” Mr Turner said.
Gold Coast chocolate lovers can also treat themselves with some exclusive Versace design Easter eggs available for sale from $45.
Mr Turner said around 96kg of chocolate was used to create the spectacular collection which looks almost too good to eat!
“All up, our Easter egg collection took 80 hours to complete and the finished product looks absolutely spectacular.
“We’ve used some of the best chocolate that you can buy to create 3 or 4 different showpiece eggs and some smaller ones as well.
“There’s no fun in not eating the chocolate, so get in there and smash it up, eat the hard-work and enjoy it!”
