Hollywood royalty Julia Roberts and George Clooney have showcased the Gold Coast in the trailer release of their new blockbuster film.

‘Ticket To Paradise’ was filmed in several locations around the Sunshine State over November last year.

The Gold Coast was among the filming locations, as well as the Whitsundays and Brisbane – with the locations posing as Bali for the film.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate says it’s another huge coup for the Gold Coast.

“In my view, Gold Coast is a star in it, as well!” Mayor Tate says.

“I think people will see it and go, ‘Wow, where’s that location?’ and all they have to do is Google it, and know it’s the hinterland on the Gold Coast, and they can have the same fun and happiness as Julie Roberts and George Clooney.”

The A-list celebs were spotted a number of times strolling around the Gold Coast late last year, sending locals into a frenzy.

The flick follows a divorced couple (Roberts & Clooney) who follow their daughter to Bali to stop her from getting married at such a young age.

It is set to be released in Australian cinemas in September.
