However, the Grammys did more than celebrate the music that has defined the last year. They also took a moment to acknowledge the resilience of the people of Los Angeles who suffered through terrible wildfires recently. The Recording Academy expressed their solidarity with those affected in a heartfelt post on January 9. They, along with MusiCares, have pledged a generous $1 million to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort, an initiative dedicated to supporting music professionals in their time of need.
