Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes has announced that he will be undergoing surgery on his hip, forcing the postponement of his upcoming August and September tour dates.
The singer revealed in an Instagram post that he experienced sudden and severe hip pain while wrapping up his New Zealand tour. Medical professionals have advised immediate surgery followed by physiotherapy, with an expected recovery time of six weeks.

Known for his high-energy performances, Barnes expressed his disappointment in having to reschedule the shows. “I hate to let anyone down, but I’m also never going to compromise the quality of my gigs,” he stated.
Ticket holders for the affected shows will be contacted in the coming days with further information regarding rescheduled dates.
Barnes concluded his post by thanking fans for their understanding, highlighting the unexpected nature of the situation.

Last year, Barnesy made a triumphant return to the stage after undergoing open heart surgery late 2023 due to bacterial pneumonia, followed by complications including staphylococcal bacteraemia and endocarditis.
