Smash Mouth were the sound of my childhood. Their songs were blasting through my TV speakers every Saturday morning while Rage ran through the biggest hits. Not to mention ‘All Star’ and ‘I’m a Believer’ taking the ‘Shrek’ soundtrack up to a goddamn 11.
The group are facing some horrendous news with lead singer Steve Harwell currently on his deathbed with only days to live. TMZ are reporting he’s reached the final stage of liver failure, something that up until now he’s been receiving treatment for in hospital. Over the past three days, his friends and family have gathered at his home to say their goodbyes.
While Steve’s struggle with alcohol abuse and ongoing health issue have been known to the public for many years, this news will still come as a shock to many. Sending our love and thoughts to his friends and family at this time.
