Australian actress Nicole Kidman found herself “a little overwhelmed” as she prepared to receive the American Film Institute (AFI) Life Achievement Award. Hollywood luminaries, including Morgan Freeman, Naomi Watts, and Reese Witherspoon, graced the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to honour Kidman.

Draped in a shimmering golden dress, the Oscar-winning star is set to become the 49th recipient of the prestigious award, a testament to her illustrious career. Kidman, known for her introverted nature, expressed gratitude but admitted feeling awkward amidst the celebration.

Originally slated for June 10 last year, the ceremony was postponed due to a writers’ strike, which concluded in September. Kidman, a five-time Academy Award nominee and winner, stands among the elite with accolades including a BAFTA, two Emmys, and six Golden Globes.
