In a move that blurs the lines between Call of Duty and Fortnite the Hip-Hop sensation Nicki Minaj joins COD this week as a playable character who feels very out of place in the franchise.

The singer has burst into the game and with her, a whole collection of pink weapons and vehicles and a finishing move that is a little left of centre. Nicki Minaj steps on her opponent with her high heels.

It’s a mixed bag of feelings from fans of the franchise who are saying things like:

“Had no idea COD had fallen so far.”

“This makes the Snoop Dogg voice pack look like the best DLC ever released”

Call of Duty announced it’s getting three limited-time Operators in the form of Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage as part of the celebration of 50 Years of Hip Hop, all three are available during Season 05.

Do you think this is great for COD or is this the game officially Jumping the Shark?

It does come after a stellar week for the franchise as their Gamescom presentation was extremely well received.

The Nicki Minaj DLC is available now for Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launches November 10 2023.
