During the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Nike came under serious fire as fans realised that Mackenzie Arnold’s now iconic goalkeeper jersey was unable to be purchased following her standout performance in the Matildas’ ground breaking World Cup journey.
Nike had promised to make the jerseys available before the next major tournament.
The highly anticipated launch took place on Tuesday, 27th February, at noon on the Football Australia website, only for the jersey to sell out in less than 5 minutes and is no longer on the website.
