Mind blown yet?
Here’s how it supposedly works. The layout starts with timber, then moves through plumbing, flooring, electrical, paint, and landscaping which follows the exact sequence of constructing a home.
“This is true!” one Bunnings employee shared. “I learned this during training. It goes from timber, screws/nails, power tools, painting the house, then gardening/pools, and finally landscaping for flowers and furniture.”
However others, including staff with years of experience, admitted they had no idea!
The buzz caught the attention of Bunnings Director of Stores, Rod Caust, who clarified the mystery.
“Providing the best experience for our customers is really important to us, and our layout aims to make shopping straightforward and convenient, whether for a major build or a DIY project”.
Bunnings has thought about the stores flow so much that they group related areas to make life easier. For example, plumbing leads into bathroom and kitchen sections, flooring flows into window furnishings, and electrical connects to lighting.
But there are exceptions like paint for instance, which is centrally located because it’s a key part of so many projects.
