Hot Tomato has this week launched three digital radio stations on the Gold Coast via DAB+, as well as through the iHeart radio app.

The Gold Coast is the tenth city in Australia to have digital audio broadcasting (DAB+), with locals able to listen by purchasing a DAB+ radio or in a vehicle with DAB+ technology.

Locals can now listen to 1029 Hot Tomato on DAB+, waking up with Galey, Emily Jade & Christo for Breakfast and driving home with Moyra and Big Trev on weekday afternoons.

Hot Tomato Gold is a new format that launched today and will play the Gold Coast’s Greatest Hits from the 60’s to 90’s.

While Hip Hop and R&B lovers can get their fix on CADA, which is a new national youth network from ARN.

Hot Tomato also announced they will soon be launching an additional locally programed DAB+ radio service in the coming weeks, once it is in season.

1029 Hot Tomato Content Director Brendon Dangar said they haven’t just done a cut and paste with their DAB+ offering on the Gold Coast.

“We’ve already created Hot Tomato Gold to cater for the top end demographic of Hot Tomato listeners and the audience that have nowhere to go after Gold FM disappeared. The music is fantastic and the imaging is Gold Coast as. The station we are currently working on at the moment and hope to launch in the next few weeks is very exciting and will be ready for the picking soon,” he said.
