If you didn’t know Sir Elton and Madonna were feuding, or didn’t know what they were feuding about, we’re here to fill you in!
This beef seems to have been bubbling for DECADES, after Elton John, over the years, repeatedly accused Madonna of lip-syncing. To which Madonna’s team hit back to let Elton know Madonna did not “spend her time trashing other artists”, perhaps purposely keeping him in the dark about the lip-syncing accusation. This happened back in 2004! That’s 21 YEARS ago! But that all changed this weekend. Madonna caught wind that Sir Elton was performing on SNL, and intending on going backstage to confront him after his performance.
“We Finally Buries the Hatchet!!!!” Madonna writes, sharing a picture of her and her now ex rival.
“Over the decades it hurt me to know that someone I admired so much shared his dislike of me publicly as an artist. I didn’t understand it.
“The first thing out of his mouth was ‘forgive me’, and the wall between us fell down,” she added.
What a beautiful (and sudden) turn around! We hope to hear some music coming out of this new found friendship. ❤️
