A man has been charged over a horror hit and run crash in Logan that’s left another man in an induced coma.

An unregistered trailbike was travelling north along Kingston Road around 5.40pm on February 18 when it collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of Kingston Road and Battle Street.

Police allege the trailbike sped off from the scene, leaving the victim lying injured on the road.

Following investigations and a public appeal for information, a 21-year-old man handed himself into police at Beenleigh yesterday.

The man has since been charged with six offences including dangerous operation of vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, failing to remain at incident and render assistance, operation of a motor vehicle without a licence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and use of unregistered/uninsured vehicle.

He is expected to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 1.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old Kingston man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and remains in an induced coma.
