A man has been rescued from a burning unit in the heart of Burleigh Heads after a ferocious fire broke out early this morning.
The blaze erupted inside a second level unit along the main dining strip on the Gold Coast Highway around 5am.
Upon arrival, fire crews worked to rescue a man in his 50s from the burning inferno.
He was treated by paramedics for significant smoke inhalation before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital under lights and sirens.
A second uninjured patient was also assessed at scene.
It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze, however police have confirmed they are treating it as non-suspicious.
