A major manhunt is continuing for a group of thieves believed to be behind a spate of armed robberies across the Gold Coast and Logan.
Three males armed with batons and knives allegedly stormed the Caltex service station in Pimpama around 5.40am on Friday.
Police say the trio, who were all wearing masks, allegedly tried to steal a number of items but fled empty handed when the attendant chased them from the store with a pole.
Fortunately, the worker escaped uninjured, while the offenders took off in a stolen white Volkswagen Tiguan.
A short time later, the same group allegedly targeted the Windaroo United Service Station in Logan, before also robbing the Friendly Grocer at Loganlea.
The thieves remain on the run, with detectives from the Gold Coast and Logan investigating.
