FULL LIST: 2025 Academy Award Nominations released

The nominations for this year’s Academy Awards are out with Emilia Perez leading the charge, while Guy Pearce is the sole Aussie up for an acting gong.

Emilia Perez is up for 13 Oscars, with The Brutalist and Wicked both scoring 10 nominations.

Those three films are among ten nominations for Best Picture with Anora, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys and The Substance also up for the prestigious award.

Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie were among the surprise snubs in the Best Actress category which will be fought out between Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Karla Sofía Gascón (Emilia Pérez), Mikey Madison (Anora), Demi Moore (The Substance) and Fernanda Torres (I’m Still Here).

The Best Actor category will be a battle between Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice).

Aussie Guy Pearce has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Brutalist and will be up against Yura Borisov (Anora), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown) and Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice).

While Ariana Grande has scored herself a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Wicked with Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), Felicity Jones (The Brutalist), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave) and Zoe Saldana (Emilia Pérez) also up for the Oscar.

While Pearce may be the only Aussie up for an acting gong there are others chasing Oscars glory.

Cinematographer Greig Fraser has been nominated for his work on Dune: Part Two, produces Adam Elliot and Liz Kearney have been recognised for their work on the animated film Memoir Of A Snail, while filmmaker Maya Gnyp is up for Best Documentary Short Feature for I Am Ready, Warden.

The 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 3 Australian time.
