It’s been a wet and wild weekend across the Gold Coast with heavy rain lashing the city.
The Gold Coast Seaway was among the areas to cop the brunt of the deluge, with over 100 millimetres falling there since 9am Sunday.
Evandale and Molenindar also saw large rainfall totals of over 120 millimetres in 24 hours, while Carrara copped 110mm.
A flood watch remains in place for much of the South East, including the Gold Coast, with the Bureau of Meteorology continuing to monitor the conditions.
Showers have been forecast for the Gold Coast again today, with the chance of a possible severe thunderstorm as well.
However, it’s not expected to be as heavy as what we have seen over the past 48 hours.
The trough is expected to move offshore later this afternoon.
