Teen jumps into Nerang River trying to evade police over Gold Coast crime spree

The dog squad has helped to track down a group of teenagers wanted over an alleged crime spree across the Gold Coast.

A stolen Nissan X-Trail that had been linked to a number of crimes was spotted in Nerang late Monday afternoon.

Police swarmed the scene, and with the help of the dog squad, located two boys on Weedons Road a short time later.

The third boy managed to flee the scene by jumping into the Nerang River but was also arrested around 10 minutes later.

Charges are yet to be laid, with investigations ongoing.
