The Prime Minister will today announce billions of dollars in funding to fix the notorious Bruce Highway.
Labor has pledged over $7 billion to repair and upgrade Queensland’s deadliest road, with work set to get underway straight away.
Anthony Albanese is expected to make the announcement during a visit to the sunshine state later today.
It’ll mark the Prime Minister’s first major funding announcement ahead of an election due in the first half of this year.
The upgrade will bring the highway up to a minimum three-star safety rating, after 43 people were killed on the road in 2024.
