Three men are on the run after a terrifying home invasion in Arundel.
The trio, reportedly wearing balaclavas and armed with a machete, forced their way into a unit on Greenview Circuit just before 4am on Sunday morning.
An altercation then broke out with a 25-year-old male occupant of the home.
The three men then fled in a vehicle before Police arrived.
The victim was later taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
“This individual sustained serious stab wounds to his hands and arm and to his fingers,” Superintendent Peter Miles told the ABC.
“It looks like the offenders were probably in the process of trying to chop those fingers off with the way this attack was undertaken.”
Police believe the attack was targeted and are looking into any potential links to organised crime.
Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV vision to contact Police.
